As you well know, the soldiers currently in the Middle East face daily struggle in the harsh and unforgiving terrain. The winters there are harsh and there are no helmet liners provided for the soldiers so that they may be warmer. Therefore, in recent years, there has been a great effort to make helmet liners to send to them.
To date, we have collected over 1,000 helmet liners. They must be made of wool of specific camoflage colors, and we have free copies of patterns donated by the local Copy Shop for knitting and crocheting helmet liners. Every year, we donate yarn to give the project a boost. People have donated yarn as well as money for the postage to send the boxes of liners overseas. The liners are such a valuable asset to the men that they have sent letters of thanks and actually leave the liners over there for another soldier to use.
Every liner helps and is appreciated. Please help us in our effort. The patterns are available for download at the bottom of the page. Please call us with any questions. Again, your effort is extremely appreciated.
